Participating shops display the M.A.P. decal and commit to the M.A.P. Pledge of Assurance to Customers and the Standards of Service, so a recommendation means the same thing from shop to shop.
Technician training
The program is built around trained technicians following the same inspection standards, not individual judgment calls that vary by shop.

A minimum warranty on covered repairs
M.A.P. members agree to the program's Pledge of Assurance and Standards of Service: we inspect to published industry standards, and we tell you what is required and what is only suggested before any work starts. Ask us about the warranty on your repair.
Consistency if you get a second opinion
Because the standards are shared across participating shops, a second opinion at another M.A.P. shop should land on the same assessment.
